Abby, who lives in London, feels that her boyfriend, whom she also works for, has taken advantage of her. Therefore, she resigns and breaks up with him at the same time. To cheer her up, her parents offer her on a trip to Chicago for Christmas. There, she stays in her aunt's apartment, which is temporarily vacant. She meets Jack, the architect in charge of renovating the house. She works under the pseudonym Peggy and connects with a single dad, John, who needs to learn how to cook turkey for Christmas. Little do they know that they know each other as Abby and Jack.
