Prince Adrian of tiny (fictitious) kingdom Calpurnia is about to be crowned king, succeeding to his late father, ending the regency of bossy, old-fashioned queen-mother Beatrice. On one of his regular incognito motorbike rides in the capital, he literally bumps into American tourist Maggie Marks, recently graduated and reluctantly looking forward to a career in corporate law.
